Hi, I'm Alexis. I've spent over twenty years in the dance world — as a competitive dancer, then as a dance mom watching from the bleachers, and now as a choreographer and coach who's still on her feet long after the studio empties out. I founded Pointe Taken in 2026 because after two decades in this world, I couldn't find a single shirt that actually got it.
Dance isn't a hobby you clock out of. It's early mornings, it's the parking lot at 6am, it's a language of counts and turnout and "from the top" that only the people inside it speak. Every piece we make starts from that — clothing that lets you wear the fact that you belong to this world, whichever seat you sit in. The wit comes second. The belonging is the point.
I know what it's like to live in a costume from October through recital season, so comfort was never negotiable. Every tee is Comfort Colors 1717 — the softest, most lived-in cotton I could find, the kind that survives a comp weekend and still feels good the next morning. Each shirt is printed to order, not sitting in a warehouse somewhere, so it comes to you made specifically for that one order — yours. And it comes in S–4XL, because this community doesn't fit in one size, and neither should the shirts.
Twenty years in, I still believe the dance world is one of the tightest communities there is — dancers, the moms who know every count, the coaches who never sit down, all of it. If you've ever been part of that, even from the audience, you already belong here. That's the whole reason Pointe Taken exists.
